Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD): research priorities for the UK

Speaker – Dr Lynsay Matthews

Lynsay is a Lecturer in Public Health at the University of the West of Scotland (bio page here). Lynsay’s research focuses on PMDD. You can see current projects on the research page www.lynsaymatthews.com. Lynsay is also co-author of the MRC/NIHR’s updated Framework for Developing and Evaluating Complex Interventions. All proposed PMDD research aligns with both the framework and the upcoming research agenda – creating exciting opportunities for funding and impact.

Theme

Lynsay has recently co-developed the UK’s first research agenda for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) – a severe hormone-based mood disorder, affecting 1 in 20 women (and AFAB individuals). One in 3 women with PMDD attempt suicide. The new research agenda launches publicly on 2nd May. Lynsay will share a sneak peak of insight from stakeholders on the future direction of PMDD research.

When

The seminar will take place online via zoom on Wednesday April 26th, 12:00 – 13:00 (GMT). As with all our talks in this seminar series, it’s FREE for anyone to join! Register to attend the seminar here.
