World Menopause Day 2023 | 4M Seminars on the Menopause

1–2 minutes

This year we have been running a 4M Seminar Series, where each month we host speakers in the field of female and mental health to showcase their research. For World Menopause Day we wanted to highlight two seminars on the menopause!

Here at 4M we facilitate research at the intersection of reproductive health and mental health, this includes facilitating research on the menopause and its relationship to mental health, to find out more about menopause projects at 4M head here.

P.S. Did you know?

Did you know that Menopause is one of the 4Ms? It sits alongside Menarche, Menstruation and Mental Health.

4M Seminars on Menopause

Dr Katy Marsh-Davies | Hybrid Working during the Menopause

In June, as part of the 4M seminar series, we hosted Dr Katy Marsh-Davies to talk about hybrid working during the menopause transition. Katy presented findings of her research which explored the experiences of professional services employees working in a hybrid mode (i.e. a mix of home and office based work) whilst going through the menopause transition. She found examples of how menopause symptoms were both alleviated and aggravated by hybrid working and she commented on the implications for workers and employers. To find out more about Katy’s research on hybrid working during the menopause transition, you can watch a recording of the seminar here.

Professor Martha Hickey | Empowering Women through the Menopause

For our next 4M Seminar on November 14th we will be joined by Professor Martha Hickey from the University of Melbourne. During the seminar she will present a new way of approaching menopause which focuses on supporting and empowering women to effectively transition through this normal life stage.
